What does a treatment involve?
There will be a consultation to begin with where we will cover any medically diagnosed
conditions, medicines and your main reason for wanting a treatment and what you hope to get from it.
What can Bowen
treat.
There are no circumstances in which the Bowen Technique cannot be used safely. I will treat you as a whole
and there are no prescribed moves for any problem or disease. Each treatment will be designed specifically for you.
What
should you wear?
The Bowen Technique can be performed over light clothing, although it is more effective when the moves
are used directly on the skin so modest underwear is recommended. If you would like to wear clothing it must be a light,
thin fabric, such as a cotton T-shirt and shorts (no denim). But not anything like satin or a silky material that will slip
against your skin or my fingers.
Confidentiality.
I will be asking about your medical history and it is useful
to bring along a list of any medication you are taking. This information is taken in the strictest confidence and will only
be seen by me.
Contraindicated therapies.
Bowen tunes your body to a certain frequency and some other therapies
are not compatible because they will undo the work done. This is not a criticism but an acknowledgement of the effects of
other therapies and how they react with Bowen. Your brain must be allowed to investigate the sensations uninterrupted, to
enable it to make any changes in information and instruction. This can take from minutes to days. Contraindicated therapies
include Massage, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Reiki, Spiritual Healing, Magnetic Therapy, Ice, Ultra Sound or Physiotherapy. It
is only necessary to abstain from these other therapies during the course of Bowen treatment which is usually about 3 weeks.

Therapies that compliment Bowen
Bowen does work well with, Bach or Bush Flower Remedies,
Homeopathy or Dietary Therapy. It can be used along side drug therapy and post surgery.
How long is a treatment and
how much does it cost?
Allow about an hour for each treatment and perhaps a little bit longer for the first one. Each
treatment costs £30 which is payable by cash or cheque on the day
